Welcome! The research of our group is focused on lanthanide-doped luminescent nanomaterials. Lanthanides are a group of 15 chemically similar elements from lanthanum (La) to lutetium (Lu). These elements feature partially filled 4f shells and the f-f electron transitions can result in optical emissions with large anti-Stokes shifts, long excited-state lifetimes, and sharp emission bandwidths. We aim at exploiting the optical property of lanthanide elements through nanofabrication to meet specific needs in practical applications.
